Power was restored by 8 p.m. Tuesday to thousands of customers who were left without power when a car collided with a power pole, according to Jackson EMC.

"We have a serious outage going on in the Flowery Branch area at Spout Springs Road and Dove Point Lane," said spokeswoman Bonnie Jones. "There’s been an automobile accident that has broken at least two poles and has disrupted service for about half of our Spout Springs substation. That involves a little over 4,300 customers."

Power was restored to many by 4 p.m., but several hundred remained without until just before 8 p.m., Jones said.

Hall County Fire Chief David Kimbrell said one person was transported to the hospital with "minor injuries" in the crash.

Jones had said customers should expect to go a few hours in the dark.

"They’re probably going to be without power for several hours because those poles will have to be removed and the apparatus taken off, new pole set and apparatus put back on before the lines can be re-powered," she said during the outage.
