The water isn’t the only place on Lake Lanier drawing public safety concerns this summer. The shoreline — and Lanier has plenty of it, touching the borders of five North Georgia counties — also has been host to noisy parties, some punctuated with alcohol and beach bonfires. As result, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has shifted the duties of its shoreline management rangers to covering the parks.
