Crews pour concrete Friday morning on the new Ga. 284 bridge at the Lake Lanier Olympic Center. A pour happened on Wednesday and continued Friday, completing the final two spans tying together the “pieces” to make the bridge one structure.
A concrete pour Wednesday and Friday “tying together the pieces” made the new Ga. 284 bridge into one structure, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation. The pieces of the bridge include vertical concrete columns and horizontal concrete caps forming a ‘T’ shape. Horizontal bridge beams stretch between the caps.
