Jackson Electric Membership Corporation has selected two young leaders from Hall County to participate in national Washington Youth Tour in June.

Spencer Sumner, a sophomore at Gainesville High School, and Georgia Warnock, a sophomore at West Hall High School, will take an all-expense-paid leadership development trip to Washington, D.C. Competing students were nominated to represent their high school, and selected based on academic performance, school and community involvement, essays, letters of recommendation and responses to questions during a face-to-face interview.

The program will provide insight to the important roles electric cooperatives play in their community. Students will also be able to meet their representatives and senators.
