St. Mary and St. Martha of Bethany Episcopal Church in Buford recently participated in Susan G. Komen Atlanta’s Worship in Pink program.

Churches, mosques and synagogues came together to stress the importance breast cancer early detection.

On Oct. 25, the Buford church carried the pink ribbon theme throughout the church with altar linens and priest’s vestments specially made for the occasion. Parishioners dressed in pink, church bulletins were pink and a pink quilt was awarded to a breast cancer survivor.

On leaving the church, all women were presented pink carnations to commemorate the fight against breast cancer.
