With an armload of questions about Lakeshore Mall’s renovation efforts, area government and school officials decided Wednesday to put off using taxpayer money that’s aimed at helping projects in blighted areas. “We’d like to see the detail on what has and has not been spent to date,” said Tim Evans of the Tax Allocation District Advisory Committee. “And is there a further plan of the mall’s next steps, given that there are some tenants that are in serious financial straits nationally ... that would have an impact on the value of the mall?” he added.
