Cleveland police are investigating the shooting of a father, 47, and son, 27, both of whom are in the hospital with serious injuries.

Police Chief John Foster said they received the call at 12:30 a.m. Thursday.

After arriving at the house on Cagle Street, Foster said police didn't know where the shooter was but were able to get the victims to safety and set up a perimeter.

At 1 a.m. Foster said he called the residence and spoke with Jack McDonald, a 69-year-old friend and roommate of the victims. McDonald agreed to come out of the house, was disarmed by police and arrested. He now faces two counts of aggravated assault, according to Foster.

Both victims were flown to Grady Hospital in Atlanta where one is in serious condition and the other is in critical condition, Foster said.

The shooting is still under investigation, but Foster said it appears the incident was sparked by a disagreement between McDonald and the victims.
