A car hit an apartment building Friday afternoon causing minor damage and knocking out power to most of the complex.

The incident happened at Pinecove Apartments off of Browns Bridge Road.

“It looks like he overshot his parking space and then struck the building and then struck the transformer,” Smith said.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested on the “suspicion of DUI,” Smith wrote in an email.

No one was injured in the incident but one apartment unit will have to be repaired before the resident can move back in.

Georgia Power was on the scene to restore power.

Residents put out a small fire that started from the transformer.
