Obesity Solutions welcomes a new bariatric surgeon

Bariatric surgeon Miguel B. del Mazo has joined Obesity Solutions at The Longstreet Clinic in Gainesville.

Del Mazo completed his bachelor’s degree in biology at Johns Hopkins University. The Atlanta native returned home to earn a master’s degree in Applied Biology at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He then earned his medical degree at Emory University School of Medicine.

He completed his general surgery residency and served as chief resident at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, where he also completed a fellowship in advanced laparoscopic surgery. He is a fellow with the American College of Surgeons.

Del Mazo performs minimally invasive bariatric surgery at Gwinnett Medical Center and Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Before joining the staff at Obesity Solutions, del Mazo had a bariatric surgery practice in Atlanta.
