Lake Lanier Islands Resorts earns TripAdvisor award

Lake Lanier Islands Resort has received a 2014 TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence award. The award honors hospitality businesses that consistently achieve outstanding traveler reviews on the TripAdvisor website.

To be considered, businesses must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least 4 out of 5.

“Receiving the honor of a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence tells us that we’re doing something very right and serves as a true source of pride for our entire team,” said Stephanie Orr, vice president of sales and marketing for Lake Lanier Islands Resort. “We’d like to thank all of our past guests who took the time to complete a review on TripAdvisor. Independence Bank CEO Evans to serve on state bankers board of directors

Terry C. Evans, president and CEO of Independence Bank of Georgia of Braselton, has been elected to serve a two-year term as a member on the board of directors of the Georgia Bankers Association.

“We welcome Terry to the board and are excited about benefiting from his extensive experience and valuable perspective,” GBA Chairman Remer Brinson, president and CEO of First Bank of Georgia in Augusta said. “He will serve our industry and association well.”

Evans began his career at Citizens Bank in Gainesville in 1974, where he rose to assistant vice president and branch manager. He later joined First National Bank in Elberton, Citizens Bank of Gwinnett and became president and CEO of Gwinnett National Bank in Duluth, which merged with Georgia First Bank in Gainesville.

In 2000, he helped start the First National Bank of Gwinnett, which merged with GBT Bancshares Inc. in 2005. He then helped establish Independence Bank of Georgia in 2007.

Evans received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in banking and finance from the University of Georgia and also attended the Graduate School of Banking at LSU.

Pro View Foods earns Ga. Fast Forty growth award

The Atlanta chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth presented Pro View Foods of Gainesville with a Georgia Fast Forty award again this year.

Pro View Foods was founded in 2007 by B. Jan Cooley as a premier poultry supplier to schools’ nutrition services, institutional and private label customers and commodity exports worldwide.

Its three production plants are in Gainesville and Braselton, employing 750 workers.

Since 2008, the Association for Corporate Growth has recognized Georgia-based companies that demonstrate significant growth in revenue and employment. Pro View Foods ranked third in the upper-middle market competition (revenues exceeding $60 million) advancing from its 10th position in 2013.

“The award is for our leaders and our associates,” Cooley said. “They are responsible for our growth, so I commend all for the honor.”
