Norton adds Paragon to its insurance division
Gainesville-based Norton Insurance Agency has announced the acquisition of Paragon Insurance of Suwanee.
Paragon, located at 2945 Horizon Park Drive, was owned and operated by Mike Garguillo as vice president. He will remain with the company in management, ownership and production capacities.
“The acquisition of Paragon and its team builds on our firm’s strong foundation enabling us to serve communities like Gwinnett County with our powerful array of insurance products. In addition, Paragon has developed a strong expertise in the Environmental Insurance field, and we plan to expand our focus to this area in the future,” said Bob Norton, president of The Norton Agency
This is the sixth acquisition in the last 21 months by Norton Insurance as it continues its growth as the largest insurance agency in North Georgia. The 86-year-old company grew its revenues by 23 percent in 2013 through acquisitions and organic growth.
Norton’s insurance division now has a network of 21 affiliates and offices located in Hall and 11 other Georgia counties, plus South Carolina and Florida. Its headquarters is located at 434 Green St., Gainesville.

Beth Baldwin, an Edward Jones financial adviser in Gainesville, has qualified for the firm’s 2014 Leaders Conference.
The event recognizes financial advisers who are among the leaders in the company. Baldwin is one of only 1,003 of nearly 12,000 Edwards Jones advisers to attend from the U.S. and Canada.
The event is set for May in St. Louis.
