SK Battery America has scheduled a Feb. 29 job fair to fill jobs — as many 2,000 by 2025 — at a new plant in Commerce.
The company, a Korean developer and manufacturer of lithium-ion batteries for hybrid electric vehicles, is looking to hire people to work in safety, quality, utility, production, process, equipment, and production, according to a Georgia Department of Labor press release on Friday, Feb. 14.
The labor department is holding the fair with SK.
The event is set for 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Lanier Technical College’s Jackson campus, 631 S. Elm St., Commerce, Ga.
Those interested can register for the event online, speeding up the process of meeting the employer. Users can create an account at that site and create/upload a resume.
Applicants are encouraged to bring their resumés and driver’s licenses. Business casual dress is encouraged.SK broke ground in March 2019 on the $1.67 billion factory located on 1523 Steve Reynolds Industrial Parkway in Commerce. The facility will generate 2,000 jobs by 2025.
