Hosford joins Peach State Bank community board
Gainesville resident Susan Hosford has been named to the Community Development Board of Peach State Bank & Trust.
She graduated from Emory University. Hosford, an Atlanta native, moved to Gainesville in 1976, and worked for the Learning Department of Brenau University and was a mentor in the Hall County School District for 22 years.
She has been active in the United Way and the American Cancer Society.
Prior to living in Gainesville, Hosford taught school in DeKalb County and Atlanta Public Schools, as well as working for the Department of Family and Children Services in Augusta.
Hosford is a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she has served as a deacon and elder.
She is the wife of the late Dr. J. Michael Hosford.
Sims named maintenance production manager for Fockele Garden Co.
Jacob Sims has joined The Fockele Garden Co. as its new maintenance production Manager.
Sims will oversee daily operations of the maintenance department and will work to ensure the company is meeting its clients’ ongoing maintenance needs. He will also provide support for other areas of the business.
Sims has more than 20 years of turf grass management experience. Most recently he has served as superintendent and assistant superintendent at two area golf courses.
A graduate of Banks County High, Sims studied environmental horticulture with a minor in turf grass at Gwinnett Technical College.
He and his wife, Brooke, have three children.
