Clarissa Brown has joined TRC Professional Services as a senior medical recruiter. Brown has a background in medical and consumer sales. She is an active volunteer in the community with Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Centerpoint and the Gainesville city school system.

TRC Professional Services makes direct hire placements in health care, information technology, accounting, management and distribution. Their offices are in Wachovia Center.

Three new officers are named at Chattahoochee Bank of Georgia

Chattahoochee Bank of Georgia in Gainesville announces three new officers: Jay Cooper, Elaine Martin and Shelia Williams.

Cooper joined Chattahoochee Bank of Georgia as senior vice president of commercial banking. Prior to joining Chattahoochee Bank, he served as executive vice president of commercial banking for Regions Bank in Gainesville. Cooper was formerly employed by SunTrust Bank in Gainesville. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia and serves on the board of directors for Good News Clinics and the advisory board for Brenau University. He resides in Flowery Branch.

Martin joined Chattahoochee Bank of Georgia as banking officer and commercial loan administrator. She has more than 25 years of banking experience in various loan support positions, and began her career with Home Federal Savings and Loan Association in Gainesville, now known as SunTrust Bank. Martin was previously employed by SunTrust Mortgage in the construction administration department. She is a graduate of Gainesville High School, Gainesville Junior College and North Georgia College, where she received a bachelor’s in business administration in accounting. She volunteers with Sonrise Camp Inc. and Georgia Mountain Players.

Williams joined Chattahoochee Bank of Georgia as a banking officer and personal banker. Prior to joining Chattahoochee Bank of Georgia, Williams was employed at Gainesville Bank and Trust and Regions Bank of Gainesville and is a graduate of Tift College of Mercer University. She has completed three years of individual retirement account training and one year of Cannon Trust School.

She is a member of the South Hall Kiwanis Club and Chestnut Mountain Church. A native of Macon, Williams has lived in Hall County for the past 20 years. She and her husband, James, and three children, Ryne and Russell Williams and Ashton Blackwood, live in Hall County.

Jessup and Griffin are named partners at Bates, Carter & Co.

Randy Jessup and Kristi Griffin have been admitted as partners with the firm of Bates, Carter & Co.

Jessup, a Gainesville native, has more than eight years of experience concentrated in taxation. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 1996 with a bachelor’s in business administration and in 2000 with a master’s degree in accountancy. Jessup manages the firm’s tax department, concentrating on the preparation and review of business and individual tax returns and consults on tax planning and research matters. Jessup, his wife, Amy, and their three sons reside in Gainesville.

Griffin is a 1995 summa cum laude graduate of Presbyterian College earning a Bachelor of Science in business administration and accounting. After spending more than six years working in upstate South Carolina, first in a regional accounting firm and then in a regional community bank, she joined Bates, Carter in 2002. Griffin manages the firm’s audit and accounting department concentrating on commercial entities, nonprofit organizations and employee benefit plans.

She and her husband, Chris, have two children and reside in South Hall County.

Sign company adds partner

Michael Kelly, general manager of Signs By Tomorrow, has become an equal owner and partner of the sign firm, along with Jay and Janet Kelly.

Signs By Tomorrow has been involved in sign and graphic design, production and installation in North Georgia since 2001. The company provides lighted and nonlighted signs, banners and advertising promotional items to businesses throughout North Georgia.

Jones named to state authority

E. Ann Jones of Flowery Branch has been named by Gov. Sonny Perdue to the Georgia Agricultural Exposition Authority.

Jones is the owner and operator of Jones Cutting Horses, specializing in raising and training cutting horses, commercial chi-angus cattle and pecans. She is member of the Georgia Agri Leaders Forum and the Georgia Farm Bureau Equine Commodity Committee. Jones was appointed by the Georgia House of Representatives to the Agricultural Commodity Commission for Equine. She has also served on the Georgia Equine Advisory Board to the Georgia Commissioner of Agriculture and the Chicopee Woods Agricultural Center advisory board.

Jones earned an associate degree from Gainesville State College. She is married to Ike Swofford and has one stepchild and one grandchild.

Auxiliary names firefighters of the year

The Hall County Firefighter’s Auxiliary has announced the 2008 Hall County Firefighters of the Year for each shift and battalion. They are Lt. Ed Ryan, A shift, North battalion; firefighter/paramedic Zach Brackett, A shift, South battalion; Lt. Bobby Reed, B shift, North battalion; Lt. Philip Stamey, B shift, South battalion; firefighter/EMT Richard Grimes, C shift, North battalion; Lt. Dwayne Burton, C shift, South battalion; Capt. Skip Heflin, support officer of the year; and Rhonda Smith, support staff of the year.
