Crane to head DOT highway maintenance for South Hall
Danny Crane was recently named highway maintenance foreman for the South Hall County Maintenance Crew by the Georgia Department of Transportation.
Crane has worked with DOT since 1999. He began his career as a temporary worker and has served in the Maintenance Division throughout his career. He worked his way up to equipment operator, then assistant highway maintenance foreman for the districtwide guardrail crew.
In his new post, Crane and his crew are responsible for the maintenance of state routes and interstates and will lead response to snow and ice, flooding, trees in the roadway and vehicular crashes.
"Danny is an outstanding employee," said DOT District Engineer Todd McDuffie. "Maintenance is extremely important to keeping our roadways safe for all motorists and Danny is just that kind of hard working, conscientious employee that we need to ensure the safety of our roadways. I am sure Danny will continue to do his job to the best of his ability. He is an asset to the Department and to the state of Georgia."
Crane's wife, Rebecca, also works for the DOT as a clerk in the District Maintenance Shop. They live in Maysville and have two sons.
