Mar-Jac's Tench chosen to lead Poultry Federation
Greg Tench was elected May 1 as chairman of the Georgia Poultry Federation during the organization's annual meeting at Legacy Lodge & Conference Center at Lake Lanier Islands.

Tench is Marketing Director for Mar-Jac Poultry in Gainesville. He and his wife, Karen, and three children live in Cornelia. He succeeds Charlie Westbrook of Cobb-Vantress in Gainesville.

Other officers elected were Barry Cronic of Columbia Farms in Lavonia as senior vice chairman and Mark Ham of Cagle's in Atlanta and Richard Jamison of Perdue Farms in Perry as vice chairmen.

Directors elected for three-year terms were Gus Arrendale of Fieldale Farms in Baldwin; Tommy Myers of Wayne Farms in Oakwood; Vernon Owenby of Tyson Foods in Cumming; and Donnie Wilburn of Harrison Poultry in Bethlehem. Rory DeWeese of Pilgrim's Pride in Dalton was elected for a two-year term.

The Georgia Poultry Federation, based in Gainesville, represents all segments of Georgia's poultry industry, the state's largest segment of agriculture and agribusiness. Georgia is the No. 1 poultry-producing state in the nation.

Three join McGarity's Business Products
Elliott Gainey has joined McGarity's Business Products as a sales representative.

Gainey, a Gainesville High School graduate, received a degree in business management from Clemson University. He formerly worked as an information system analyst and a client service representative.

Teri Gaddis also joins McGarity's in a sales position. She graduated from North Georgia College and State University with a finance degree and has 12 years experience as a national sales advocate for a transportation company. She has two children and two grandchildren.

Both Gainey and Gaddis recently completed Xerox Sales Training According to High Performance Standards at Xerox University in Leesburg, Va. Gaddis also completed training with Hon, a national office furniture company.

Alan Corin also has joined McGarity's sales staff. Corin comes to McGarity's with 33 years experience in the office equipment industry. A graduate of the University of Rhode Island, he owned his own office equipment business for 23 years. He and his wife, Shiela, have four children and two grandchildren.

McGarity's Business Products is an authorized sales agent for Xerox and also specializes in office furniture and design and office supplies.
