Estes joins Mountain Valley as investment advisor
Sam Estes has been hired by Mountain Valley Investment Services, a division of Mountain Valley Community Bank, as investment adviser serving the Cleveland, Hall and Jefferson markets.

"Sam is a welcomed addition to our team," bank president Donald E. Allison said. "We are excited about our results in investment services so far and believe that Sam can take us to a whole new level."

Estes is a lifelong resident of Hall County where he graduated from Lakeview Academy. He went on to receive his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from North Georgia College and State University in Dahlonega.

Prior to joining Mountain Valley, he was associated with Raymond James Financial Services in Gainesville as well as E-Trade Financial Services.

Waters named top agent of month; Godina joins firm
Kim Waters was named listing agent of the month and sales agent of the month for February by Century 21 Community Realty.
Waters is an associate broker with Century 21 and has been a real estate agent in Northeast Georgia for many years.

In addition, the firm announced the addition of Sandra Godina to the Gainesville office. Sandra is a bilingual real estate professional and resides in Flowery Branch.

Century 21 Community Realty is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Community Bancshares Inc. and has eight offices in Northeast Georgia.

Elrod honored by Singing News magazine
Don Elrod, host of "Good News from the World of Southern Gospel Music" on WGTJ radio, has been named the March recipient of the Golden Mic Award by Singing News magazine, a publication devoted to Southern Gospel music.

Elrod is also host of the cable television show, "North Georgia Gospel," as well as regional programs on radio stations in Athens and Cornelia.

An ordained minister, Elrod has served on the staff of a number of area churches. He is also the lead vocalist for the gospel trio, "Georgia."

Longstreet Clinic expands service at River Place
The Longstreet Clinic is has announced that two of its medical specialties are now serving patients at River Place Braselton.

The Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine department and the Department of Surgery are seeing patients in suite 140 of the Thompson Mill Road medical complex.

The Longstreet Clinic expects to open its permanent 5,000 square-foot office on River Place's third floor in mid-2009. At that point, the Center for Women's Health and Center for Pediatrics are expected to begin expanded practice at River Place.

The Longstreet Clinic, incorporated in 1995, is a multi-specialty medical group owned and managed by physicians. Today, the group has more than 76 physicians and more than 35 midlevel providers representing 11 specialties.

Cobb certified in neurology
Dr. Daniel L. Cobb of Gainesville Neurology Group, has successfully passed the requirements of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is certified as a diplomate in the specialty of neurology.

The board was established in 1934 to identify physicians in neurology who had completed training in a certified program and passed a rigorous oral and written examination.

Aesthetic Center opens second site at River Place
The Aesthetic Center of Gainesville, a division of Northeast Georgia Plastic Surgery Associates, is pleased to announce the opening of a second location in the River Place Medical Plaza 1 building at 5875 Thompson Mill Road, Hoschton.

"The Aesthetic Center of Gainesville, Braselton office is serving the needs of this fast growing area with our new location," said Bruce Parker, practice manager. "We will be seeing patients for cosmetic surgery, laser procedures, Botox and other fillers, as well as reconstructive and hand surgery. We felt we could better serve our patient population and minimize their travel time with these two locations."
