Gainesville driver earns UPS safety honors
Terry Swindle of Gainesville, a package car driver for UPS, was recently recognized by the company for completing 25 years without an accident.
Swindle works out of the facility located at 2254 Centennial Drive, Gainesville.
Manager Leonard Skinner presented Terry Swindle with the 25-year safe driving award, recognizing his achievement.
UPS drivers log more than 2 billion miles a year on U.S. roads and average less than one accident per million miles driven.
Fockele Garden Co. Earns Three PLANET Awards
The Fockele Garden Co. of Gainesville recently received PLANET Awards in three categories at Professional Landcare Network's 41st Annual Environmental Improvement Awards Program.
Fockele Garden earned Merit Awards in both the Residential Design/Build and Erosion Control/Ecological Restoration divisions, and a Distinction award in the Commercial Maintenance category.
In the Erosion Control category, the company was honored for its work at the Fusaro-Everitt Home in Atlanta for creating a beautiful and technical remedy for a stormwater runoff problem.
The Design/Build Award was for the Hillside Garden at the Moss home on Lake Lanier in Gainesville, where a series of naturalistic seating areas make a garden out of a steep slope.
The company's work at Peach State Bank & Trust earned the award for Maintenance.
