Longstreet Clinic enters agreement with pharmacy college
The Longstreet Clinic in Gainesville has joined with the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine School of Pharmacy for an affiliation agreement for students enrolled in the Doctor of Pharmacy program.
Dr. Mandy Reece, an assistant professor of pharmacy practice at the Philadelphia College's Georgia campus in Suwanee, will lead the program.
"This collaboration provides a wonderful opportunity for PCOM pharmacy students to experience firsthand ambulatory care with a focus in diabetes," Reece said. "It is a honor for PCOM to collaborate with TLC."
Reece is the former Pharmacy Director and Diabetes Educator for District 2 Public Health at the Hall County Health Department in Gainesville. She is a certified diabetes educator and is board certified in Diabetes Disease State Management.
Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine offers a four-year Doctor of Pharmacy degree at its Georgia Campus in Suwanee. For more information, visit www.pcom.edu.
Gainesville McDonald's, store manager honored
The Gainesville McDonald's franchise at 707 Jesse Jewell Parkway was recognized as an Outstanding Restaurant for its performance in 2010. The award recognizes the top 10 percent of licensee restaurants.
Store manager Sharon Mooney was recognized at an awards banquet for being Outstanding Store Manager of the restaurant, an award that goes to the top 10 percent of managers in the region.
The awards were presented at a regional McDonald's Operators Association Meeting in Atlanta.
McMahan joins Chattahoochee Bank of Georgia as vice president
Kristie McMahan will serve as vice president and portfolio specialist with Chattahoochee Bank of Georgia, 643 E.E. Butler Parkway, Gainesville.
McMahan recently was vice president and commercial relationship manager at First Citizens Bank & Trust Company in Duluth. She held positions previously with SunTrust Bank and Milliken & Co.
McMahan is a graduate of Wofford College and received her MBA at the University of Georgia. She is a graduate of Leadership Hall County.
She and her husband, Scott, and their two daughters live in Hall County.
Insurance agent Wood Earns AAI designation
Trey Wood, a personal and commercial agent at Turner Wood & Smith Insurance of Gainesville, has earned designation as accredited adviser in insurance. This professional recognition is earned following the successful completion of three national examinations given by the the Insurance Institute of America.
Wood graduated with a degree in Risk Management and Insurance from the Terry College of Business. He is a member of the Gainesville Jaycees, the Young Leaders of the United Way of Hall County and Leadership Hall County.
