Three named to board of Chattahoochee Bank
The Board of Directors of Chattahoochee Bank of Georgia has announced the appointment of three new directors.

C. Brian Daniel is president of Carroll Daniel Construction Company, a general contracting and construction management firm in Gainesville.

Daniel earned a degree in management from Auburn University and a masters in building construction from Southern Polytechnic State University. He is a member of First Baptist Church of Gainesville and is affiliated with a number of community and business organizations.

Daniel serves as a board member of the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce, past chairman and current board member of Challenged Child and Friends and a board member of the Georgia branch of the Associated General Contractors. He is a graduate of Leadership Hall County, and is active in the United Way of Hall County, Young Presidents Organization and the Gainesville Kiwanis Club.

Missy Dimo is a partner with Dimo Group Inc., a retail jewelry company. Before receiving her degree from The Gemological Institute of America, she began her career managing one of the successful retail jewelry stores owned by her father in the very competitive jewelry district of Istanbul, Turkey. She currently supervises the accounting function of the Dimo Group and manages the Dimo family real estate holdings.

William L. Rogers Jr. is a partner with Whelchel & Dunlap where he currently practices real estate and banking law.

A 1968 graduate of Emory University with a degree in history, Rogers earned his degree from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1971, where he was a member of the Georgia Law Review and a legal writing instructor. He is a member of the Gainesville-Northeastern Bar Association, serving as president from 1988-1989. He has also served on the executive committee of the Real Property Section of the State Bar of Georgia, of which he is a member.

Rogers is a past president of the United Way of Hall County, a past president of the Kiwanis Club of Gainesville, a past director of the Gainesville-Hall County Chamber of Commerce, and a fundraiser for the Laurel Society of The Medical Center Foundation.

Ayers named engineering manager for Cantrell
Cantrell, a poultry processing equipment sales and service company based in Gainesville, has recently named Larry Ayers as its engineering manager.

Ayers supervises all aspects of engineering for Cantrell, including quotes, sales, plant projects, plant layouts and manufacturing engineering. He has more than 15 years of management, production and poultry processing experience.

The Southern College of Technology graduate has been with Cantrell for 10 years. Ayers worked previously in the electrical division where he designed and built electrical panels. He also programmed Allen Bradley controllers, assembled weighing machines and installed equipment.

Attorney Orr presented with Indigent Defense Award
Gainesville attorney Wyc Orr, senior partner in the firm of Orr Brown Johnson, has been presented with the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers 2008 Indigent Defense Award.

The award was presented in recognition of Orr's 25 years of work to insure that persons accused of committing crimes in Georgia, but who are unable to afford a lawyer, are provided an adequate defense.

Orr serves as a member of the Georgia Public Defender Standards Council, which administers the statewide public defender system, and previously served as chair of the Georgia Indigent Defense Council, a predecessor to the current council.

The award calls Orr, "a spokesperson for indigent defense issues while a member of Georgia Indigent Defense Council and Georgia Public Defender Standards Council, Wyc has never lost sight of his duty and responsibility to fight for indigent defendants. ... he has remained a vocal advocate for the citizens of Georgia."
