Georgia's poultry growers will have access to a shuttle bus for this year's International Poultry Expo and International Feed Expo on Jan. 24.

Stork Food Systems, in cooperation with the U.S. Poultry & Egg Association, Georgia Poultry Federation and the University of Georgia Extension Service, will offer a bus that will depart at 8 a.m. from Sam's Club at 3137 Frontage Road in Oakwood.

Growers who present a special coupon will be admitted to the expo for $5. The coupon is available in The Poultry Times, a sister publication of The Times.

Seats on the bus are on a first-come first-served basis for growers, poultry company employees and allied industry representatives. Reservations may be made by calling the Georgia Poultry Federation at 770-532-0473

Bagwell named Donor of the Year at Lanier Tech
Tommy Bagwell, president and chief executive of American Proteins, has been named the foundation's "Donor of the Year." Bagwell accepted the award at the foundation's Business and Industry Forum held at Chateau Elan.

In his acceptance speech, Bagwell emphasized the importance of not just giving to individuals, but rather giving individuals the opportunities and resources that they need to help themselves. It is for this purpose that Bagwell has given so much in support of the educational mission at Lanier Tech.

Bagwell and his wife, Chantal, recently established the $500,000 Bagwell Family Scholarship Endowment to provide scholarships for students attending technical colleges located near their family business locations.

Each year, $25,000 will be distributed to students living in the vicinity of American Proteins facilities. Along with its facility and corporate offices in Cumming, American Proteins has facilities in Alma and Cuthbert in South Georgia and one in Hanceville, Ala.
