Jazzercise group participates in breast cancer fundraiser
Members of the Jazzercize and JazzerKids Fitness Center of Gainesville joined with 500 others from North Georgia in raising $170,000 for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation at a benefit dance-fitness class in Atlanta.
The seventh annual Jazzercise benefit was held at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Buckhead.
Gainesville Jazzercise instructor Brittany Holtzclaw was one of the instructors. The featured instructor was Jazzercise founder Judi Sheppard Missett, who turned her love of jazz dance into a worldwide dance exercise phenomenon when she founded the Jazzercise dance fitness program in 1969.
Jazzercise is host to a network of 7,500 instructors teaching more than 32,000 classes weekly in 32 countries.
