A Buford man was killed Tuesday night when his motorcycle collided with another vehicle.

Christopher Kiley, 23, of Buford, was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center, where he died of his injuries.

Around 7:30 p.m., the driver of a 1999 Mercedes ML320 was traveling east on Bluffton Road when she attempted to turn left onto White Bluff Way. The vehicle was hit by Kiley’s off-road motorcycle, which was traveling illegally on the roadway in the opposite direction, according to Cpl. David P. Schiralli, public information officer for the Gwinnett County Police.

Kiley, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from his motorcycle. The motorcycle did not have a headlight and, due to the dark conditions when the wreck happened, the Mercedes driver was unable to see Kiley’s motorcycle, Schiralli said in a statement.

No charges are expected to be made against the Mercedes driver. The wreck still is being investigated.
