Buford resident Kevin Charles New was arrested for rape and child molestation and is in custody at the Hall County Detention Center, according to a Hall County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Sheriff’s investigators arrested New on July 4 following an investigation spurred by allegations of a rape on V dock at Holiday Marina earlier that day.

The 50-year-old man also faces charges of public drunkenness and probation violation.

The Criminal Investigations Division of the Hall County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the case.
