The band Under1Roof will take the stage at Braselton Park playing covers for the third annual Concert in the Park from 5-8 p.m. Saturday.
New Community Church started the free event a few years ago, said pastor Chris Hoffman, as a way to bring the community together and for the church to "love people with no strings attached."
"Jackson County as a whole didn’t have a whole lot going on as far as first-class events," said Hoffman. "We believe God draws people to events ... and we just want to love people. That’s it."
The band, which also plays on Sundays at New Community, performs a variety of classic rock songs and often plays in Atlanta, Hoffman said.
"They are one of the best bands you’ll hear as far as classic rock goes," he said.
Hoffman said the church decided to go with classic rock songs rather than worship songs so that people could listen to music they know.
"We wanted to do music that people know and love. A concert’s not a concert unless you can sing along," Hoffman said.
The event also will feature free food for attendees and inflatable games for children.
"This is a fun event for every age group," Hoffman said. "Bring a blanket, bring a lawn chair and get ready to party."
