JEFFERSON — An athlete raising money for an injured Georgia toddler has raised more than $150,000 during a 900-mile cross-country bike ride. Dave Nazaroff left from New York City on Wednesday morning, and arrived in Jefferson on Monday morning as part of the fund-raising effort for Tripp Halstead. The boy was on the playground of his day care center in Winder when a large tree branch fell and struck him on Oct. 29, 2012.
