The Belk in Gainesville will be offering a free bra-fitting event on Sept. 28.
The Fit for the Cure event will run from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Belk store in Lakeshore Mall, located at 150 Pearl Nix Parkway. No purchase is necessary to receive the Wacoal bra fitting.
Belk and Wacoal are partnering to donate a total of $4 to Susan G. Komen, the world’s largest nonprofit funding source for breast cancer research, for every bra fitting. For each bra or shapewear piece purchased at an event, the donation increases to $8. It goes even higher with multiple purchases.
Research shows that 8 out of 10 women are wearing the wrong size of bra, according to a Belk press release. An average bra fitting takes about 15 minutes.
Anyone who spends more than $80 on Wacoal or b.tempt’d will receive a free gift: a makeup caddy with four-piece eye beauty set.
Fit for the Cure began 16 years ago, with Wacoal educating more than 760,000 women in 411 cities in the U.S. and Canada about the importance of bra fit, foundation and overall breast health. Wacoal has also donated more than $4.5 million to Susan G. Komen from the events. In 2011, Belk began matching Wacoal’s donation and has contributed more than $200,000 to the nonprofit through the bra fitting events.
