A Banks County native has been named the Georgia Department of Transportation’s assistant district engineer for the 21 counties in Northeast Georgia, including Hall, that make up the DOT’s District One.

As of July 1, Todd McDuffie began in the post and is continuing to serve as district maintenance engineer, a job he has held since 2007.

McDuffie has worked with Georgia DOT since 1984, beginning as an enforcement officer.

He has held several positions through the years. As district signal engineer, he was honored with the Commissioner’s Award of Merit for outstanding service.

"Todd has a wealth of knowledge in the overall operation of the district and has a great understanding of the district’s needs," said District Engineer Russell McMurry.

"As we continue to face difficult financial times, Todd will be instrumental in working with each work unit on budget monitoring and ensuring that we are as effective as possible with our resources."

McDuffie graduated from Piedmont College in Demorest with a bachelor’s degree. He is married and has one daughter.
