Update: A Gainesville man suffered serious injuries after a wreck Monday, Feb. 27, on Browns Bridge Road, leading to cinder blocks being thrown into the road, according to a Georgia State Patrol report.
Troopers responded after 5:30 p.m. Monday to Browns Bridge Road near Hidden Hills Drive.
State patrol said Bruce Lee Monson, 36, of Gainesville, was heading east on Browns Bridge Road in a Kia Rio and crossed the center line.
A Nissan Titan driven by Erick Velasquez, 32, of Kennesaw, swerved to avoid Monson, but the two vehicles collided, state patrol said..
After the wreck, the pickup truck ran off the road and hit a mailbox.
The truck was also towing a trailer loaded with pallets of cinder blocks, which spilled into the road, according to the report.
Velasquez and his passenger, Alexander Velasquez, 30, of Kennesaw, were transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville for a “possible injury or complaint,” according to the report.
Monson was transported to the hospital with suspected serious injuries, state patrol said.
Northeast Georgia Health System officials said Monson was listed in fair condition Wednesday, March 1.
Monson was at fault in the crash, troopers reported.
Update: The roads reopened at 6 p.m.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office advised drivers to take a different route.
