Man accused of sexual assault at November social gathering
Rolando Galvan

A Gainesville man allegedly sexually assaulted a woman at a Gainesville home almost three months ago, according to authorities.

The investigation began Dec. 1 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, where Hall County Sheriff’s Office deputies met with the victim who was being treated.

Investigators obtained a warrant Wednesday, Feb. 26 for Rolando Galvan, 19, on a charge with aggravated sodomy.

“During the preliminary investigation, Sheriff’s Office detectives determined that Galvan performed a sexual act on the adult female victim with force and against her will at a residence in the 3,000 block of Byers Ridge Road off of Mountain View Road,” Sheriff’s Office spokesman Derreck Booth wrote in a news release.

Booth said Galvan and the woman were at the residence for a “small social gathering” between Nov. 30 and the morning of Dec. 1.

Galvan was booked into the Hall County Jail, where he is being held without bond.

The case is still under investigation.
