A Hall County judge has set an Aug. 12 court date to rule on a civil case in Superior Court involving two former deputies. Sheriff Gerald Couch filed a lawsuit naming the Hall County Civil Service Board and former deputies Jack Dodd and Larry Henslee after the quasi-judicial board voted to reinstate the two men, who were terminated in the wake of an inmate escape. According to Sheriff Gerald Couch, the deputies in charge of a transport detail from the courthouse failed to notice James Edward Cantrell’s escape.
