  • New for 2008-09: Jackson County schools will be hosting its periodic review for accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, which includes an on-site visit Sept. 28-Oct. 1. High school math teachers will be implementing a revised curriculum that includes algebra, geometry and statistics in each math course. Also, students in first through fifth grades will move to a standards-based report card, which will assess and communicate student progress on meeting grade-level standards rathen than a number or letter system.
