Authorities: Stolen church van crashed into Cornelia pawn shop, 17 guns taken

Three people were charged by a grand jury with stealing 17 firearms from a Cornelia pawn shop by driving a stolen church van into the front of the store, according to court documents.

Deshati Campbell, Andre Chambers and Rashawn Dixon were charged Jan. 16 in U.S. District Court.

The indictment alleges Campbell stole a van from an Atlanta-area church in April 2014.

“Just after midnight on April 25, 2014, (Campbell, Chambers, Dixon) … and two others drove the stolen church van into the front of Gene’s Pawn Shop … in order to gain entry for the purpose of stealing firearms computers and other items,” according to court documents.

All three were in custody, and no attorney information was available from the online judicial database.
