A pair of East Hall residential fires led to backed-up traffic Monday afternoon on Athens Highway/U.S. 129 in the 3300 block of the road.
Fire operations led to the road being closed in both directions for about an hour and a half before it reopened about 5:20 p.m., Hall County Fire Services Capt. Zachary Brackett wrote in an email.
One of the homes, a 2,000-square-foot residence, has heavy fire damage, Brackett said.
“Crews have extinguished the main body of fire and ventilated the roof of the structure,” Brackett wrote.
The other home, a 1,000-square-foot residence, has moderate fire damage.
“This fire has been extinguished and crews are putting out hot spots,” Brackett wrote.
No injuries were reported in the fires, and the cause is undetermined for both fires, Brackett said.
