Plans to open an Arby’s restaurant may be on hold in Braselton in South Hall.

Town officials said Monday that a developer’s request to put the restaurant off Friendship Road/Ga. 347 just west of Old Winder Highway/Ga. 211 “has been deferred at the request of the applicant.”

A public hearing on the proposal had been set to go before the Braselton Planning Commission Monday night and the Braselton Mayor and Council on Dec. 7.

GLM Braselton LLC was specifically seeking conditional use for a “quick-service drive-thru restaurant.”

Town officials confirmed that Arby’s was being considered. The restaurant chain has said that “opening a new restaurant in Braselton is something we’re currently exploring.”
