Another fast-food choice may be coming Braselton’s way.

An Arby’s restaurant is proposed off Friendship Road/Ga. 347 just west of Old Winder Highway/Ga. 211 in South Hall, near the Gwinnett County line.

The 2,418-square-foot restaurant would sit on nearly three-fourths of an acre, close to several medical practices springing up in the area.

Other details about the development weren’t available.

“Opening a new restaurant in Braselton is something we’re currently exploring,” according to an email from Arby’s about the project.

GLM Braselton LLC is seeking conditional use approval for the restaurant from Braselton officials. The property, owned by Riverstone Braselton LLC, is zoned as planned unit development with conditions.

The applicant wants to get permission for a “quick-service drive-thru restaurant,” according to the city.

A public hearing on the proposal is set to go before the Braselton Planning Commission on Monday and the Braselton Mayor and Council on Dec. 7.

Both meetings will take place in the Braselton Police and Municipal Court Building, 5040 Ga. 53.

A flood of other eateries are proposed in Braselton at the Friendship Road/Ga. 211 area.

There has been talk of Chick-fil-A, Zaxby’s and Dunkin Donuts in the area, which also includes a planned 23-acre development, The Village at Chateau Elan.

The growth isn’t just retail-oriented. Much of it is medical, spurred by Northeast Georgia Medical Center Braselton’s opening in April 2015.

The Longstreet Clinic, based in Gainesville, has recently moved its Braselton offices to the new Highpoint Medical Center at 1270 Friendship Road, off Ga. 211.

Developed by The Norton Agency in Gainesville, Highpoint’s first phase, a two-story, 40,000-square-foot building, was a joint effort between Longstreet Clinic and Northeast Georgia Diagnostic Clinic.

Also, Georgia Eye Associates has opened a practice in the Creekside Village complex at 1235 Friendship Road, Building 300, Suite 120.
