Anna Ruby Falls construction delayed

The reopening of the Anna Ruby Falls Scenic Area near Helen, originally scheduled for Tuesday, has been postponed until April 4.

The U.S. Forest Service has been building a new observation deck at the base of the falls, but officials say they have encountered rain delays and construction complications on the project.

Anna Ruby Falls is the most visited tourist attraction in the Chattahoochee National Forest.

The Smith Creek trail, which runs from the falls to Unicoi State Park, will also remain closed until April 4.
