Alleged election violations won't be referred to attorney general

The Georgia State Election Board declined to send alleged election violations by Hall County to the state Attorney General’s Office Tuesday. An investigation by the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office last year found 14 violations of election law during the Republican primary, but board members said interference by a commissioner and other county staff was a contributing factor. The election board reviews violations to determine whether there’s probable cause to refer the case to the attorney general for possible prosecution or other potential penalties.
