A 10-year-old South Hall girl is in good condition today following a Wednesday night accidental shooting at her home.

Hall County Sheriff's Col. Jeff Strickland said that at about 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to a call at a home on Wintergreen Court off Pine Vale Road, where they found a 33-year-old man and the girl wounded by a gunshot.

The man, Robert Iannuzi, was handling a small caliber handgun when he accidentally fired it, Strickland said. The bullet went through his hand and then through his young niece's arm and into her upper torso, Strickland said.

Authorities have ruled the shooting an accident, Strickland said.

The girl, whose name was not released by authorities, was taken by ambulance to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston, where she was in good condition late Wednesday.

Iannuzi was treated and released at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
