Traffic on southbound lanes of Interstate 985 has stalled following a wreck with injuries this afternoon.
Hall County Fire Chief David Kimbrell said emergency workers from the county transported one person to Northeast Georgia Medical Center with bruising and internal injuries after the man's vehicle was hit by a Habersham County ambulance taking a patient to Atlanta.
The man's vehicle overturned in the accident. Kimbrell described his injuries as nonlife-threatening.
The accident happened near mile marker 19. Kimbrell said traffic was backed up on the roadway past Exit 22.
Hall County emergency medical technicians also transported the Habersham County patient, which had been headed for an Atlanta hospital at the time of the accident.
Georgia State Patrol is investigating the accident.
