Flowery Branch police officers responded to a call Friday about an abandoned child at the Quad Oaks Apartments, and not only found the 2-year-old alone, but an indoor marijuana-growing operation potentially worth $8,000. Officers discovered the daughter of William Bryan Burbage, 28, and Elyse Marie Burbage, 26, alone in the couple’s Spring Street apartment; she had been left at home alone since early morning, according to Police Chief David Spillers. “It was discovered that later that morning the child’s mother had sent a text to a neighbor asking for someone to check on the 2-year-old,” Spillers said.
