Potatoes, peaches and barbecue may sound like tailgate fare. But in today's kickoff game for the University of Georgia Bulldogs and the Boise State Broncos, the food is part of another battle.

Gov. Butch Otter of the opposing team's home state of Idaho has challenged Gov. Nathan Deal to a barbecue cookoff before the game. The stakes, a bag of Idaho potatoes or a basket of Georgia peaches.

Mickey Ray's of Boise represents the competition and Fox Brothers of Atlanta the home team in a best-of-three competition featuring ribs, brisket and pork. A six-person blind judging panel will rate dishes in each category.

Deal will present the winning barbecue team with a trophy at 6:30 p.m., just prior to the game. It all happens in the West Plaza of the Georgia World Congress Center outside the Georgia Dome.
