61 trucks of concrete poured at hospitals new Braselton location
Argos Concrete of Buford pours concrete at the site for the Northeast Georgia Health System’s Braselton hospital.

Construction workers at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center’s new Braselton campus were busy at work in the early hours of Friday.

Some 61 trucks were used to pump concrete into an area of 579 cubic yards, according to Kyle Dennis, field engineer with Turner Construction Co. It’s the largest concrete pour for the new hospital, according to spokeswoman Melissa Tymchuck.

The work occurred from about 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. in a section of the new building where the two patient wings will meet a medical office building and the central elevator shaft.

The foundations for the planned hospital have been under construction since February.
