Authorities put out fires involving five cars and nearby brush at the intersection of Skelton and Spring roads in Gainesville late Thursday afternoon.

The quarter-acre brush fire was on the rear of the property, Hall County Fire Services Capt. Zachary Brackett said. No injuries were reported in the fires, which started before 5 p.m., he added.

“Once access was made to the fires, they were extinguished quickly,” Brackett said.

The cause of the fires hasn’t been determined, Brackett said.
