Three suspects arrested at a Hall County home Sunday following a robbery investigation were charged with having alleged criminal street gang ties.

Orlando Jasmaine Maddox, 27, Terry Jerome Maddox, 28, and Gabriel Williams, Jr., 27, all of Gainesville, have been charged with violation of the Georgia Street Gang and Terrorism Prevention Act for alleged associations to MG (Money Gang).

A robbery investigation from the Hall County Sheriff’s Office led to the arrests of the three Gainesville men. An individual told authorities he was robbed at gunpoint in the 1200 block of Patterson Drive, saying money was taken from him.

Patterson Drive runs north of Athens Street near Interstate 985.

Sheriff’s office investigators and deputies met with the Maddoxes and Williams at the Patterson Drive residence, placing Williams under arrest in connection with two outstanding arrest warrants.

One warrant is a Superior Court arrest order and the other is a State Court probation warrant.

Investigators obtained a search warrant for the home, according to a Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad news release, finding three plastic baggies containing suspected synthetic marijuana, digital scales, packaging materials, body armor, a loaded 9 mm semiautomatic pistol and $3,019. The pistol was stolen, according to the warrants.

All three were arrested and booked at the Hall County Jail, where a small amount of marijuana was found on Terry Maddox’s person.

All three men were charged with possession of synthetic marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and theft by receiving in connection with the pistol, according to the release.

Terry Maddox was also charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana, and Orlando Maddox was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Orlando Maddox’s convicted felon firearm possession charge arose from his prior conviction for possession of cocaine, pleading guilty to the charge in 2011. Orlando Maddox’s sentence was 10 years, with 12 months to be served in confinement.

All three are in the Hall County Jail, according to the jail’s population list.

Warrants were also signed for all three men in connection with violation of the Georgia Street Gang and Terrorism Prevention Act, allegedly being “associated with a criminal street gang ... MG (Money Gang) through the commission of theft/receiving firearm and possession of synthetic marijuana with intent to distribute.”

Attempts to reach Lt. Scott Ware of the MANS unit were unsuccessful.
