Hall County Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested three teenagers Monday in connection with a theft of laptop computers at Lyman Hall Elementary School.

Jose Rodriguez, 17, of Gainesville was booked Monday into Hall County Jail and charged with burglary, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and violation of the gang act.

He was arrested during a traffic stop, deputies said, after investigators learned of his role in the reported burglary at the Memorial Park Road school during the early morning hours of Feb. 11.

Five laptops were recovered from Rodriguez’s car during the stop, said Col. Jeff Strickland, spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office.

The Gang Task Force helped identify and locate Rodriguez and two more suspects, Strickland said. He added they are members of the local street gang known as La Onda.

The two additional suspects, both 16-year-old juveniles, were arrested at Kenwood Park where another three laptops from the school were recovered, Strickland said.

The youths were charged with burglary, possession of marijuana, underage consumption of alcohol and violation of the gang act. They were released to their parents, Strickland said.
