Three men have been arrested in connection with at least 17 car burglaries that were reported in Jefferson in the past two weeks, according to the city’s police department.

Daniel Smith, 20, of Braselton, Zachary Evanson, 18, of Jefferson, and Matt Daniels, 18, of Pendergrass have been arrested in connection with a number of burglaries in Gwinnett County and areas of Jackson County, including Jefferson, according to a report from the Jefferson Police Department.

Searches of four homes connected to the men produced property that recently had been reported stolen, including a Taser and a handgun.

The Jefferson Police Department, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department and the Gwinnett County Police Department still are investigating.
