2 townhome units damaged in fire caused by lightning

Heavy fire was showing when firefighters arrived early Thursday morning to the 4700 block of Crawford Oaks Drive.

A lightning strike caused a fire early this morning in Oakwood, according to Hall County Fire Services.

Two of three units in a townhome in the 4700 block of Crawford Oaks Drive were damaged, according to the fire department, which received the call at 5 a.m.

Heavy fire was showing when firefighters arrived, but no injuries are reported.

Firefighters used an aggressive interior attack to combat the conditions, according to fire services spokesman Capt. Zachary Brackett.

The fire appears to have started in an unoccupied unit.
