Two people were treated for smoke inhalation Wednesday morning after escaping a mobile home blaze in the 2800 block of Jack Bryant Circle in East Hall County.

Hall County firefighters arrived to find a double-wide mobile home about 60 percent involved in fire, Hall Fire Chief David Kimbrell reported in a news release.

The occupants, a man and a woman, were inside the home, which was destroyed, but were able to get out as firefighters arrived, Kimbrell said.

Kimbrell said the fire apparently started from a heat lamp in the attached carport that was too close to a pet carrier.

The Red Cross assisted the displaced residents with clothing and lodging.
