Two people were transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, one with serious injuries, after a three-vehicle crash at the Interstate 985 ramp onto Mundy Mill Road at about 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24.
A Ford Expedition was traveling north on the exit ramp and failed to maintain its lane, traveling off the edge of the roadway and striking a guardrail, according to Georgia State Patrol post commander Anthony Coleman. The car continued north, striking another vehicle.
The Expedition then struck the concrete median and began overturning. As it overturned, it hit a third car.
The driver of the Expedition, Rufus Larkin, 60, of Flowery Branch, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Charges have not been made pending further investigation, Coleman said.
Another driver, Lynn Lauke, 57, of Gainesville was transported to the Medical Center for evaluation. Her condition was not known.
The driver of the third vehicle was not transported.
